The working principle of a non-standard POE power supply switch is classified as a switching power supply, without a POE chip, only through a transformer to step down 220V AC to 48V DC, without detecting the lower-end power-receiving equipment, directly output voltage and current at each RJ45 port without interruption, which may cause the voltage to be too high and burn out the lower-end power-receiving equipment. Such equipment cannot be directly connected to other network equipment, because the direct connection simply leads to 2 pairs of network cables in the POE power supply, and the positive and negative electrodes are connected to form a short circuit. At light, the port is damaged, and at worst, it will smoke and catch fire, which will briefly pose the risk of an accident.
In summary, the standard POE power supply switch has a POE control chip inside, which has the function of detection before power supply. When the device is connected, the POE power supply will send a signal to the network to detect whether the end point in the network is a PD device that supports POE power supply. Non-standard POE products are strong-supply network cable power supply equipment, which is powered on as soon as it is powered on. There is no detection process.
