What are the differences between managed and unmanaged switches?

The task of network management switch is to keep all network resources in good condition. Network management switch products provide a variety of network management methods based on end point control port (Console), based on Web pages, and support Telnet remote login network. Therefore, network managers can monitor the working status and network operation status of the switch locally or remotely, and manage the working status and working mode of all switching ports globally.

Unmanaged switches refer tobladeservers that support specialized application capabilities, including protocol sessions, remote mirroring, tape emulation, and intranet file and data sharing. From architectures with extra processing power per port and huge bandwidth between blade servers, which are highly integrated, to relatively simple architectures where each server is equipped with dedicated processors, memory, and I/O capabilities for communication between ports, intelligent switches have many different architectures
